FALLS CHURCH, VA / JUNE 24, 2016 — In less than 140-characters, Todd Hitt — founder of private equity firm Kiddar Capital, has donated $25,000 to charity today on Twitter using #donate, via a social media-driven giving tool from an innovative Fintech newcomer — GoodWorld.
Hitt’s donation, the first of this magnitude via Twitter, will benefit The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC), an Alexandria, VA-based network of nine bilingual, tuition-free pre-schools that provide high-quality education to low-income children and families.
“This technology is game-changing for fundraising,” stated Hitt. “GoodWorld has created a fantastic financial tech tool that removes the critical barriers of time and interface to donating any denomination of money. I’m pleased to be an active Goodworld user on my path to making a difference in the world.”
GoodWorld’s #donate technology allows anyone to make an instant and secure donation on Twitter and Facebook by simply typing #donate. A person can seamlessly donate any amount, anytime, anywhere — a necessity in today’s increasingly social, mobile world. Over 1,600 nonprofits representing a variety of causes have partnered with GoodWorld, including Save the Children, UNICEF, The Humane Society, United Way, and Greenpeace USA.
“We believe philanthropy can be incredibly powerful as a communal activity that can be shared, celebrated, and used to inspire others,” said GoodWorld Founder and CEO Dale Nirvani Pfeifer. “Todd’s donation will not only raise awareness for CFNC’s tremendous work, but also encourage others to join him in supporting CNFC easily and effectively — making giving accessible, instant and fun.”
